Café d´Europe
For Europe Day 2006, on 9 May, the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) is launching a cultural project across Europe backed by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU – the Café d’Europe. In 27 Cafés d’Europe, in 27 European capitals, coffeehouse discussions will take place with the public and young people from all over Europe. Questions will be asked, ideas aired, creative and visionary approaches proposed . The core issue is the diversity and colourful nature of the European Union.People will also be writing in the Café d’Europe – writers and members of the public will write the ‘Stories of Europe’ in 27 European capitals
