7th African Fine Coffee Conference & Exhibition
The 7th African Fine Coffee Conference & Exhibition will be held from 11th – 13th February 2010 at the Sarova White Sands Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa, Kenya. This year’s conference offers a full array of activities designed to meet the diverse interests of the participants.
Over the years, the conference programme has evolved from mainstream conference presentations and technical sessions to a dynamic line up of specialised events and seminars focusing on the issues affecting the African coffee industry.
Some highlights of this year’s programme:
The most anticipated addition to the conference calendar is the Africa Barista Championships (ABC). This event will run on 12th – 13th February 2010 as national barista champions from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia will
compete for the coveted title of Africa Barista Champion.
On 10th February 2010, the 6th African Scientific Coffee Conference will take place alongside the EAFCA / TechnoServe Cupping Fundamentals training workshop, brewing workshop and a coffee tasting session. The African Scientific Coffee Conference is an annual event that brings together scientists from all over the world to discuss the latest in coffee research while the latter is a capacity building event designed to enhance coffee cupping skills among professional coffee cuppers.
On 11th February, the best of EAFCA coffees will be cupped, tasted and offered to potential buyers at the Trading Floor . This will be a one of a kind opportunity for the international buyers and roasters to taste and to bid for the winning high quality African coffees

The Women’s Breakfast on 12th February 2010 returns to the programme for the second year running. This session has become a popular addition to the conference because of its special focus on gender issues and crop husbandry in the coffee sector.
In the afternoon, delegates will have a choice of 3 different relaxing complimentary activities to break up the busy conference schedule and still have time to recap, network and socialise.
Finally, on 13th February 2010 – the last day of the conference, there will be an invitation-only trading floor for all the winning coffees from the “Taste of Harvest” competition. This will serve as a platform for the winning coffee producers and buyers and roasters to meet and strike potential business deals.
