This year’s event, which will take place on 3 & 4 November at the prestigious St Regis Grand and Radisson Blu in Rome, will focus on “Engaging Today’s Consumer. Making Tomorrow’s Success”.

An action-packed two day programme
The European Coffee Symposium 2010 will combine a tailored Supply & Innovation Day, Rome coffee shop Study Tour and the European Coffee Shop Awards & Gala Dinner, all on day 1. The European Coffee Symposium conference will take place on day 2.
On 3 November, Allegra’s Supply & Innovation Day will offer an exclusive forum for leading operators and key suppliers to meet face-to-face to explore and present new product innovation & supply chain opportunities. A Study Tour of Rome’s café culture will run simultaneously during the day, providing participants with a valuable opportunity to surround themselves with the inspiration, authenticity and tradition of Grand Espresso Italia.
The evening will see Allegra’s European Coffee Shop Awards 2010 take place at the prestigious St Regis Grand Hotel, Rome, bringing leading industry executives together in recognition and celebration of the vibrant European coffee shop, food-to-go and food-for-now segments.

On 4 November, thought-provoking speeches, forward-looking thinking and fascinating panel discussions are on the menu of the day at the European Coffee Symposium conference, which will allow participants to gain a 360° strategic vision of the European marketplace.
“Insights & Innovation” from across the European coffee scene will be the first topic of the day. Allegra Strategies’ Managing Director, Jeffrey Young, will open the session with an analysis of the marketplace, sharing very latest insight from Allegra’s PROJECT CAFÉ 10 EUROPE report, which will be launched at the event.
Further insight into the challenges faced in today’s environment will then be offered by Christophe Reale, Managing Director of espressamente illy. This will be followed by a look at innovation and the future, with Kaspar Basse, Founder and CEO of Joe & the Juice exploring the ‘next generation’ of coffee shops hitting the European market and Matts Johansson, CEO of da Mateo examining ‘The Future of Coffee Craftmanship’.
Next up will be top executives from ‘Global Players’ McCafé, Starbucks, Caffè Nero and Costa Coffee, sharing their visions for ‘Local Expansion’.
