The Coffee Culture Days event, begun last year, had another success in early mid-February, reports Lithuanian National Coordinator Vytautas Kratulis.
The event took place at the newly opened Panorama shopping centre in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, and the Barista Championship at its heart drew 21 participants from all over Lithuania (and even one from neighbouring Latvia, whose performance was judged but not included in the competition).
The Championship ran over two days, which followed two competitor meetings where all the rules and regulations were explained, and the contestants were introduced to the equipment that they would be using.
The judging team this year was led by Marc Pierre Dietrich from the UK, and after a serious contest, they awarded the top prize as Barista Champion to Rasa Basciulyte (pictured), who scored 570 points
