Illy goes for new openings in Asia for Universita del caffe.
TRIESTE — Universita del caffe, established in Trieste in 2000 with the main goal of promoting and spreading at global level the culture of quality coffee, and in particular of the Italian coffee, has announced the opening of two new premises: in Jakarta, Indonesia, and in Bangkok, Thailand.
The choice to increase the formative institution in the Asian market will thus reach six premises on the whole–the already existing ones are in Bangalore (India), Shanghai (China), Seoul (South Korea) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)–and is motivated by the increasing economic growth of the area, in addition to the interest in coffee shown by its population. In both Universities, in Jakarta and Bangkok, a selected team of qualified teachers, educated in the central site of Trieste, will offer a training program purposely developed to address the public’s many needs . From the more technical and specific of bar and restaurant insiders to those of people who make coffee an absolute right.
All participants will end up by acquiring and furthering their theoretical and practical knowledge of the whole process, from the coffee bean to the finest espresso in the cup. The two courses on offer will be customized on the basis of the participants’ experiences and needs: “Coffee Expert”: a two-day long course to learn everything about coffee, from coffee-beans to the espresso in the cup and cappuccino, dealing with theoretical and practical aspects at the same time. “Creative Coffee”: a two-day long course with a more practical approach, dedicated in particular to insiders and coffee lovers, who will appreciate and learn the “art” of making coffee and the most creative recipes to distinguish their bar offers from other competitors.’
